    KIA

    FOUNDER & BEAT TRAINER

Hi I’m Kia, I’m a mum of 3 girl and a lover of food and fresh air! I’ve been in the fitness Industry since I was fresh out of high school, having worked in many gyms and even owning my own gym in NSW for a spell, but nothing ever felt quite right.

My drive to find my happy place has bought my family and I back to the Sunshine Coast, after a brief 7 year hiatus in NSW, and to BEAT Group Fitness.

I’ve always struggled with body image, diet and just self esteem in general, so I spent many years pushing myself in a gym and group fitness environments, striving for unobtainable goals.

When I came across music driven group fitness, in particular the Jungle Body program, something inside of me just clicked. My brain said “this is how it’s supposed to feel” and I made a promise to myself that I would never force myself to exercise or do movement that I dreaded, ever again.

BEAT Group Fitness was born from the desire to give other people that same freedom, physical, emotionally and spiritually.

My vision for BEAT is to create a space that encourages people to move. To celebrate you and your body, exactly how you are today, but to also encourage you to push your limits and smash your goals.

When I’m not in the studio (so basically never) you will find me exploring the coast with my family, picnicking, camping or swimming. I thrive being outdoors and within the community.

We can’t wait to welcome you at our studio!

  • TABITHA

    BEAT TRAINER

Hi I’m Tabitha aka Tabby, and I first discovered The Jungle Body Konga when Kia bought it to the coast in 2022. I’m known for being enthusiastic, friendly and always trying to sneak in a little groove anywhere and everywhere.

My best friend invited me along and from the moment I stepped our of my first class, dripping in sweat with a huge cheesy smile on my face, I knew I could be back again and again.

My enthusiasm eventually led me to want to learn how to instruct and make this more a part of my life. I am a proud mum of 4 married to my forever sweetheart and living my dream working as a registered nurse. Konga injects that fun and socialisation that helps bring balance to my life.

Since joining Konga and BEAT Group Fitness, I’ve been achieving fitness goals, maintaining positive mental health and connecting with really awesome people on the Sunshine Coast.

It’s a place to get an effective workout without it feeling like a chore. A dark room, air conditioned, bannging beats with disco lights and a welcoming community is great motivation.

My hope is that anyone who walks in that door feels welcomed immediately and that they leave class feeling lighter and happier every time.

Konga is all about moving about to great music amongst a community who are friendly and want to have a good time. So please don’t be shy, come to a class! Give it a go and let’s groove together!

  • CHANTELLE

Hey! I’m Chantelle - it’s so nice to meet you! I joined BEAT as a member in January 2025 and instantly fell in love with the bangin’ tracks, the feel-good vibes, and the incredible energy of the community. I’d truly found my happy place!

When Kia asked if I’d be interested in training up and covering classes, I jumped at the chance (though my inner voice was telling me otherwise). BEAT gave me the confidence to step outside my comfort zone, and now I teach Burn/Tyga and occasionally fill in for Konga. I love how these classes energise my inner rave girl!

I’m a 43 year old business babe and a proud mum of two beautiful girls (6 & 9). I found BEAT at a time when I was feeling flat and unmotivated, and it reignited my spark for life. Honestly I hadn’t done cardio for about a decade and certainly not post kids! It’s helped me rediscover my passion for music, dance, and movement - and I can honestly say I’m now a better mum, wife, and human because of it.

I absolutely love teaching at Beat because of the amazing people who show up and give it their all. We’re a supportive community from all walks of life - it’s not about getting it perfect, it’s about having fun, doing what you can, and leaving on a high. I especially love welcoming new members and making sure everyone feels part of the BEAT family.
